The Belgian pavilion

The Belgian pavilion at the Osaka 2025 World Expo is part of the ‘saving lives’ sub-theme, focusing on water as a vital symbol. Designed by architect Cyril Rousseau, the building evokes the three states of water through innovative, sensory architecture. It highlights Belgium’s strengths in the fields of health, research and sustainable development. Visitors are taken on an immersive journey that culminates in a green heart, a symbol of reconnection with nature. The pavilion is both poetic and technological, and conveys a message for the future.

Faced with common challenges (energy transition, ageing, technological sovereignty), the two regions are strengthening their cooperation. Wallonia is also showcasing its expertise in culture, video games, health and robotics. The Osaka World Expo 2025 is a major opportunity to deepen these relations.
